Business Analyst, Core Platform

Apptega is seeking an experienced business analyst to facilitate product delivery and strategy for our Cybersecurity Compliance Management Platform. At Apptega, we're passionate about helping businesses implement effective cybersecurity and compliance programs with an easy-to-use platform, and the Business Analyst, Core Platform, is key to its design and delivery.

This role reports directly to Apptega’s VP of Product.


Work with one of the most innovative and up-and-coming cybersecurity software companies in Atlanta. We are located at ATDC, Atlanta’s premiere high-tech start-up center in Tech Square in Midtown. Work with a seasoned team of entrepreneurs, sales leaders and enterprise security software veterans as we build a great company. What We're Looking For

Reporting to Apptega's VP of Product, you are a valued member of the product team, and your responsibilities include gathering feedback, creating requirements, designing mockups, managing the product backlog, and maintaining high-quality standards. You'll be turning strategic initiatives into actionable tasks. The position requires a highly energetic, flexible, and proactive team player with a passion for delighting Apptega's customers.


  • Work closely with Product, Technology, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to refine and deliver on Apptega's mission of making cybersecurity and compliance easy for everyone.
  • Translate cybersecurity program management processes into actionable workflows in Apptega.
  • Gather, document, and communicate technical requirements for Apptega's cybersecurity management platform.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on changing needs and strategic objectives.
  • Track sprint velocity to inform roadmap timelines and commitments.
  • Lead backlog grooming and retrospectives.
  • Build a deep understanding of the platform to triage client-reported bugs effectively. 

What It Takes to Be Successful


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • 1+ year of experience as a Business or Product Analyst working on a B2B SaaS product
  • Experience with Cybersecurity programs or frameworks (e.g., SOC2, NIST, CMMC), a plus
  • Experience with Jira or similar software, a plus
  • Excellent written communication skills for producing concise, structured recommendations and requirements
  • Strong verbal communication skills for expressing complex ideas in simple terminology to both internal stakeholders and Apptega customers
  • Self-starter who can work independently and seeks out opportunities to collaborate with others
  • Ability to organize workload, set priorities, analyze problems, design solutions, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Energetic, creative problem solver with a drive to win in a very fast-paced environment
